Online registration is now open for the 2024-2025 school year! 📚✏️ If you need help with school registration, our Mercedes ISD Family & Community Engagement parental liaisons are providing assistance at the district’s Registration Intake Center, located at the Mercedes ISD Auditorium, 837 S. Fueling Dreams at an Early Age! 🚀🌟 Third grade students in the Gifted and Talented program from all four elementary schools, Travis, Taylor, Hinojosa, and JFK, embarked on an engaging field trip to the Texas State Technical College Challenger Learning Center last week. Through immersive STEM activities, these young minds experienced the wonders of science and technology, setting the stage for future college and career readiness. It’s an evergreen tradition! 🎄🎨 Students from John F. Kennedy Elementary recently participated in the annual IMAS Christmas Tree Forest decoration contest. The "Camp North Pole"-themed ornaments were crafted by Kennedy students and the Student Council officers decorated the tree at the IMAS, adding a touch of Tiger magic to the annual exhibit. The tree will be on display throughout the season among RGV elementary schools, middle schools, community groups, businesses and families. 🌟❄ Shown at the event were, in front, from left, Sophia Anguiano, Isabella Soria, Jalylah Villarreal, Emma Ybarra, and Lorraine Ledesma. It’s Science Fair time! 🔬🧲🌟 Students in the third to fifth grade from Kennedy Elementary School showcased their science projects, which were judged on their design, methodology, data and presentation. Along with enriching our students’ knowledge and experience with the scientific method, the Science Fair offered students a chance to share their ideas and methods with classmates and teachers.
